A muslim woman and a disability activist living in Indonesia, Aci experienced a sudden physical disability after a car accident caused her to lose both her arms.
Aci can be seen getting ready for her daily prayers with assistance from a companion and reading a book by turning the pages with her feet. When discussing what allowed her to accept her new life quickly, she attributed it to learning to compromise and look strong so as not to hurt her family.
Through film and rich media, students can learn about disability activism, a social movement that seeks to advance the rights, dignity, intersectionality and inclusion of people with disabilities.
