This course introduces KS2 students to the digital and media worlds they’re already part of, helping them explore how stories, images, and online spaces shape how we see ourselves and others. Through immersive Lyfta storyworlds, short films, and thoughtful discussion, pupils will build their capacity to pause, reflect, and question what they see online. Themes include representation, truth, stereotypes, wellbeing, responsibility, and digital kindness. Learners will also be encouraged to develop their own ideas and reflections through regular journaling and class conversations. This collection contains 12 carefully scaffolded lessons, mapped to PSHE, Computing and RSHE.

This course supports secondary students to critically explore the media and digital world they’re immersed in. Through powerful human stories, immersive environments, articles, and reflective discussion, students are invited to question how algorithms, platforms, and media representations shape what we see, and what we miss. Through over 12 sequenced lessons, learners engage with topics including misinformation, deepfakes, stereotypes, AI, digital responsibility, and the power of storytelling. Regular journaling prompts help deepen self-reflection, and survey tools measure shifts in attitudes and understanding. The course is mapped to PSHE, Citizenship and Computing, and supports personal development through empathy, media awareness, and ethical digital engagement.

This set of lesson plans is designed for Key Stage 3 and 4 students, focusing on developing critical digital literacy skills. . We recommend starting with the 'Documentary literacy and critical thinking' lesson. The lessons aim to equip students with the ability to critically analyse and engage with digital content, understand the ethical implications of technology use, and develop responsible digital citizenship. Through a combination of discussions and practical exercises, students will learn to navigate the digital world with confidence and discernment.
