Art: Inspired by Mono (Primary)

In this lesson we meet Mono, working in his studio and in the streets of Santiago, Chile. Each scene takes your students on a journey from the small-scale to huge artworks, in design and completion stages. It’s an opportunity to explore the work of an internationally renowned artist working today and in recent modern history, which we hope will inspire your learners to create their own art using a range of materials. **You will need to organise relevant materials for this art lesson, eg paper, paints, etc.** **National Curriculum objectives:** KS1 Art - to use drawing and painting to develop and share their ideas, experiences and imagination - to develop a wide range of art and design techniques in using colour, pattern, texture, line, shape, form and space - about the work of a range of artists, craft makers and designers. KS2 Art - to improve mastery of art and design techniques with a range of materials, including drawing and painting, with a range of materials [for example, pencil, charcoal, paint] - to learn about great artists, architects and designers in history.
