This assembly could be linked to International Democracy Day (usually mid September). **Lyfta core themes:** Community and Citizenship, Equality and Human Rights. **Lyfta core skills and values:** Active Citizenship and Political awareness, Collaboration and Teamwork, Communication, Decision making, Human Rights, Leadership. **SDG:** 5. **National Curriculum objectives:** KS2 PSHE R14. to realise the nature and consequences of discrimination L3. to understand that there are basic human rights shared by all peoples and all societies and that children have their own special rights set out in the United Nations Declaration of the Rights of the Child. KS2 Citizenship g. to understand what democracy is, and about the basic institutions that support it locally and nationally.
