This assembly is suitable for KS2/KS3 and can be followed up with the full lesson plans: How sound works (KS2 or KS3) and Ocean noise pollution, which takes a deeper look at the problem. Please also explore the wide range of ocean-themed content throughout Lyfta! As students are entering the assembly space or settling down, you could play the sound clip in advance of sharing it in the 1st activity - an interesting and atmospheric way to introduce the theme today! **National Curriculum objectives:** KS2 Science - recognise that environments can change and that this can sometimes pose dangers to living things - explore examples of human impact (both positive and negative) on environments, - find out about and describe the basic needs of animals for survival (water, food, habitats, etc). KS3 Science - the interdependence of organisms in an ecosystem, - changes in the environment may leave individuals within a species, and some entire species, less well adapted to compete successfully and reproduce, which in turn may lead to extinction, - the importance of maintaining biodiversity. KS2/KS3 PSHE (KS2) L28. about what might influence people’s decisions about a job or career (e.g.personal interests and values, strengths and qualities). KS3 - reflect upon Kerri's childhood hobbies and interests and how this lead to her current research.
