This assembly is adaptable for KS2 or KS3 and pairs well with 'Assembly: Living Sustainably' which introduces learners to Malte and beekeeping in Germany. **Lyfta core themes:** Culture and Identity, Health and Wellbeing, Natural Environment. **Lyfta core skills and values**: Environment and Sustainability, Entrepreneurship, Healthy Living, Respect. **SDGs:** 2, 3, 11, 12, 15. **National Curriculum objectives:** KS2 Geography understand geographical similarities and differences through the study of human and physical geography: South America. KS3 Geography human geography relating to use of natural resources to understand how human and physical processes interact to influence, and change landscapes, environments and the climate; and how human activity relies on effective functioning of natural systems. KS2 Science identify that animals, including humans, need the right types and amount of nutrition, and that they cannot make their own food; they get nutrition from what they eat explore examples of human impact (both positive and negative) on environments; for example, the positive effects of nature reserves, ecologically planned parks; and the negative effects of population and development. KS3 Science: Biology Relationships in an ecosystem: the interdependence of organisms in an ecosystem, including food webs and insect pollinated crops. KS2 and KS3 Design Technology- cooking and nutrition to understand seasonality, know where and how a variety of food ingredients are grown, reared, caught and processed (source, seasonality); and characteristics of a broad range of food ingredients.
