This assembly is suitable for all ages but is most likely to suit primary schools and lower KS3. We introduce Mohit, leading conservation efforts in his local area to protect rare hoolock gibbons and their habitats. **National Curriculum objectives:** KS1 PSHE L2. how people and other living things have different needs; about the responsibilities of caring for them L3. about things they can do to help look after their environment. KS2 PSHE L4. the importance of having compassion towards others; shared responsibilities we all have for caring for other people and living things; how to show care and concern for others L5. ways of carrying out shared responsibilities for protecting the environment in school and at home; how everyday choices can affect the environment (e.g. reducing, reusing, recycling; food choices) KS2 Science - recognise that environments can change and that this can sometimes pose dangers to living things - explore examples of human impact (both positive and negative) on environments, for example, the positive effects of nature reserves or garden ponds; negative effects of deforestation - find out about and describe the basic needs of animals for survival (water, food, habitats, etc).
