This assembly introduces Ilya, Co-Founder and former Chief Scientist at Open AI. It is accessible to upper KS2 and above. Some challenge prompts are included in teacher notes for older students. You could use it to explore the theme of new technologies like AI that have the potential to change the world, or careers in technology. **We advise that you skim-read the article's glossary at the bottom of the article 'A brief history of AI' to support discussions around the concepts of AI and AGI.** **Note:** AI is a very big topic to explore and we suggest slowing it down and spending longer than the usual 20-minute slot on this assembly if you intend to explore the theme as well as considering Ilya's life and role in technology.
