**Important note: There is a short section in the film (05.44 - 06.33) where the teen girls have an adult-led activity discussing periods and menstrual products.** This lesson introduces 15-year-old Megen who is part of a girls' surf group in Nicaragua, where surfing has been traditionally a boys' pursuit. It explores how she and other girls stay safe in the water and in the sun and how your pupils can look after their skin, too. This lesson is available for primary and secondary students using differentiated rich media resources, which students select according to their age and/or reading abilities. We've named them 'primary' and 'secondary' but feel free to use whichever suits your learners. **National Curriculum objectives:** KS3-5 PSHE - about safe and unsafe exposure to the sun, and how to reduce the risk of sun damage, including skin cancer. - the importance of taking responsibility for their own physical health, including sun safety.
