This lesson is adaptable for KS2/3 and could be simplified for KS1. Teaching the introductory lesson plan 'Forest guardian' first would be ideal. The lesson could provide older learners with a window into indigeneity, culture and belief systems; and as such could be readily adapted for use in KS4 RE or PSHE. The film is visited in a few Lyfta lesson plans but there are many benefits to a second viewing to pick up and notice new things. **Lyfta core themes:** Community and Citizenship, Culture and Identity, Natural Environment, Professions and Entrepreneurship. **Lyfta core skills and values**: Active Citizenship & Political Awareness, Adaptability & Flexibility, Coaching & Mentoring Collaboration & Teamwork, Empathy & Understanding Others, Environment & Sustainability, Information Retrieval, Intercultural Competence, Perspective-Taking, Respect. **SDGs:** 11, 15. **National Curriculum objectives:** KS2/3 RE There are opportunities to link this lesson to RE and the links with creation stories in religious texts. KS2 English - read texts structured in different ways and for a range of purposes - draft and write for different purposes. KS3 English - read a range of texts critically - write accurately, fluently, effectively and at length; considering how their writing reflects the audiences and purposes for which it was intended.
