In this lesson, students will explore three different storyworlds to inspire their descriptive writing. They'll visit the Matsigenka tribe in The Amazonian rainforest, Peru. They'll also go to Hong Kong to experience the city scape in 360 degrees. Lastly, they'll visit the main stage of the Finnish National Opera and Ballet. Having experienced these three different environments, students can draw on their multi-sensory experiences to write a description. Having experienced these environments, students will be given an option of three descriptive writing tasks to complete. They will be provided with a list of success criteria with which to evaluate their work and use the last part of the lesson to improve it. You may want to allow more than one lesson to complete this task, depending on how quickly students work through their exploration of the storyworlds. **Lyfta core themes:** Learning and Growth, Culture and Identity, Natural Environment. **Lyfta core skills and values:**Communication, Creativity and Innovation. **SDGs:** 11, 15. **English KS3 and KS4 key skills:** - planning - organising information and ideas - creative writing - using language techniques effectively - vocabulary.
