Teacher notes

This lesson is most suitable for KS3 and above students. Students studying any kind of visual media will benefit from the lesson and hopefully enjoy the opportunities it presents! In the final activity, students will need access to their own or school devices to take photos. KS3 Geography - extend locational knowledge and deepen awareness of the world’s countries, focusing on environmental regions, including key physical and human characteristics of major cities - understand geographical similarities, differences and links between places through the study of human and physical geography of a region within Africa - human geography relating to: population and urbanisation; international development; economic activity and use of natural resources - understand how human and physical processes interact to influence, and change landscapes, environments and the climate. KS3 PSHE L10. to recognise and challenge stereotypes and family or cultural expectations that may limit aspirations. KS4 PSHE L5. about the need to challenge stereotypes about particular career pathways, maintain high aspirations for their future and embrace new opportunities.
