This lesson is suitable for KS2 and explores the city of Jakarta through literacy and geography skills. We don't watch the film or explore any of the scenes outside the cityscape to keep the focus tightly on geography. **National Curriculum objectives:** KS2 Geography - locate the world’s countries using maps, concentrating on their environmental regions, key physical and human characteristics, countries, and major cities, - learn about different types of settlement and land use, economic activity, including trade links, and the distribution of natural resources including energy, food, minerals and water. KS2 English (reading comprehension) - read texts structured in different ways and for a range of purposes, identifying main ideas and summarising these, - to retrieve and record information from non-fiction.
