This lesson is suitable for KS2 or KS3. If you would like to develop a longer series of lessons for English, 'Curious camels' and 'Animals in tourism' would be great. **National Curriculum Objectives:** KS2/3 English - to read texts structured in different ways and for a range of purposes, identifying main ideas and summarising these - to retrieve and record information from non-fiction - to draft and write for different purposes. KS3 Geography - extend locational knowledge and deepen awareness of the world’s countries, focusing on environmental regions, including key physical and human characteristics of major cities - understand geographical similarities, differences and links between places through the study of human and physical geography of a region within Africa - human geography relating to: population and urbanisation; international development; economic activity and use of natural resources - understand how human and physical processes interact to influence, and change landscapes, environments and the climate. KS2 Geography - understand geographical similarities and differences through the study of human and physical geography - understand human geography, including: types of settlement and land use, economic activity including trade links, and the distribution of natural resources including energy, food, minerals and water.
