Faith in higher power: Part 1

In this lesson we will meet Lukas from Denmark who is Christian, and explore the themes of faith, prayer and healing.

We recommend teaching this pair of lessons **after** the lesson called "My Identity: Part 1' which introduces the whole storyworld series. The focus of this lesson is Lukas' storyworld, Heart of an Athlete - one of six storyworlds from Denmark which explore faith, religion and worldviews. **Lyfta core themes:** Community and Citizenship, Culture and Identity, Health and Wellbeing, Relationships. **Lyfta core skills and values**: Coaching & Mentoring, Coping Methods, Courage & Self-Confidence, Empathy & Understanding Others, Growth Mindset, Healthy Living, Intercultural Competence, Self-Discipline & Self-Regulation. **SDGs:** 3. **National Curriculum objectives:** KS2/3 RE The Becoming Me storyworld series includes a range of opportunities to meet children from different faith/worldview backgrounds which can link to your locally agreed SACRE syllabus. In this lesson, Lukas shares his Christian faith with us: we observe how his family practise Lutheran Christianity in a unique 'biker' church and we discover how Lukas believes in the power of prayer for healing his heart defect.
