Inference skills
In this lesson, you will use inference skills. This means that you make conclusions, about what's happening or what someone is like, based on evidence presented to you.
Teacher notes
In this lesson, students will visit two locations. They will meet Leah in Denmark and they will also meet Freddy from Brazil. They will visit each person's home and see if they can infer information about these people from the things they find in their rooms. Please note that if you launch this lesson for students on their own devices you will need to explain that they should only look around the person's room within the storyworld to gather their clues. If students watch the short documentary films or read the articles within the storyworld, this will prevent them from effectively and independently inferring meaning. **Lyfta core themes:** Culture and Identity, Relationships. **Lyfta core skills and values**: Communication, Critical Thinking, Positive Thinking, Resilience & Perseverance, Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving. **SDG:** 3. **KS3 and KS4 English skills** - Inference - Identify and using evidence to support ideas - Synthesis.
