Introduction to Lyfta (remote learning)

Dear teacher, Welcome to your first Lyfta lesson! The aim of this lesson is to introduce you and your pupils to Lyfta learning materials when you are teaching online remotely. There is a separate introductory lesson plan for presenting face to face in classrooms. You will discover two of our learning environments or storyworlds. Each storyworld contains one short documentary film, a variety of 360 degree content and rich media articles, which allow you and your learners to travel the globe virtually and meet people in different parts of the world to explore their homes, work and lives. Before teaching this lesson, we recommend that you visit the two storyworlds included in this lesson where you will meet Rob from Cornwall in the UK (The Beachcomber) and Andrea from the Jujuy region of Argentina (Andrea's Yard). We recommend Google Chrome as a browser for teachers and pupils. When you enter a storyworld, ensure that the sound is switched on. The pupil quest tracker will remind them to to do this.
