Teacher notes
This #LyftaTime lesson plan is one of a series of four lesson plans for the storyworld series Kids' Cup, which has teams and stories from young footballers in China, Brazil, Palestine and the host nation Norway. It is suitable for upper KS2 and KS3 and is adaptable. We have designed this mini-lesson to be delivered from the front of the classroom from a central computer and screen. This lesson introduces Anna, who is competing in the international football tournament the Kids' Cup. Like ALL Lyfta storyworlds, these characters and their families are unique: we don't share stories as being 'typical' or as 'single stories' of people or places. In Autumn 2021, a wide range of rich media articles will be released as part of Anna's storyworld in Norway and the other three stories from China, Palestine and Brazil. **Please note: If this is your first Lyfta lesson, please see these specially designed introductory lesson plans first, which introduce the Quest Tracker and how Lyfta works:** Option 1: '#1 Lyfta Time: Rob in Cornwall' is a 20 minute introduction exploring one storyworld Option 2: ‘How to use Lyfta’ is a 45 minute lesson exploring multiple storyworlds. **Lyfta Core themes:** Learning and Growth, Health and Wellbeing, Community and Citizenship, Equality and Human Rights. **SDGs:** 3, 5. **National Curriculum objectives:** KS2 and KS3 PE Opportunities to use the Kids’ Cup storyworlds as a stimulus to discuss sports, competition and healthy living in the context of Anna’s experience.
