This lesson is part of the 'Music is my social tool' storyworld. We meet Izandra, a young black Brazilian woman raised by her grandmother, who encouraged her to attend a local project to learn to play the violin. This instrument, classical music and the work of Afro-Brazilian musicians changed her life. Izandra now shares her expertise with other low-income youngsters in Porto Alegre, southern Brazil, and works to make classical music accessible to all people. This lesson has been designed to be the 6th in the Digital and Media Literacy Course. Music (KS2): - appreciate and understand a wide range of high-quality live and recorded music drawn from different traditions and from great composers and musicians.
