This lesson is the second of a pair of lessons exploring Leah's life and faith as a young Jewish girl from the reform tradition of Judaism. It is most suitable for Key Stages 2 and 3, and could be adapted for KS1. We recommend teaching this pair of lessons **after** the lesson called "My Identity: Part 1' which introduces the whole storyworld series. This lesson explores Leah's storyworld, Compassion is Key, and discusses the themes of faith, family, and intergenerational relationships. **For this lesson, you will need to provide pupils with a copy of the article in the activity 'Care and compassion' OR show the image on a screen and have students copy the concentric circles diagram to paper.** **Lyfta core themes:** Community and Citizenship, Culture and Identity, Health and Wellbeing, Learning and Growth, Relationships. **Lyfta core skills and values**: Collaboration & Teamwork, Coping Methods, Courage & Self-Confidence, Creativity & Innovation, Empathy & Understanding Others, Generosity & Kindness, Growth Mindset, Healthy Living, Intercultural Competence, Mindfulness, Positive Attitude, Respect. **SDGs:** 3, 11. **National Curriculum objectives:** KS1/ 2/3 RE The Becoming Me storyworld series includes a vast range of opportunities to meet children from different faith and worldview backgrounds which can link to your locally agreed SACRE syllabus. In this lesson, Leah and her family share their lives lived through the Reformed Jewish faith. We explore ideas about family, compassion, intergenerational relationships, obligations, rituals, celebrations and traditions within this branch of Judaism. The film shows the family celebrating **Shabat** and Leah's **Bat Mitzvah** ceremony.
