Lyfta Time #69: Aci in Indonesia

This lesson introduces Aci, who works to improve the lives of all disabled people in Indonesia. She reflects on how her life adapted after losing her arms in an accident. In the film, we focus on her work for young people who traditionally have been excluded in society. **Please note: We advise a skim read of the article 'Disability and language' which provides a good introduction to the language of disability and the importance of asking (not assuming) and most importantly, the need to avoid using either negative or overly positive language in talking about disability.** This mini-lesson can be delivered either from the front of the classroom using a central computer and screen, or for students who have access to their own computers or devices. Like ALL Lyfta storyworlds, these characters are unique.
