Lyfta Time #71: Paula in Spain

This lesson introduces Paula, working to preserve and protect a group of marine birds called Shearwaters off the coast of Galicia in northern Spain. This mini-lesson can be delivered either from the front of the classroom using a central computer and screen, or for students who have access to their own computers or devices. **KS1 teacher note:** For younger learners, we suggest you watch the film with subtitles OFF initially to allow learners to watch and enjoy the film. Paula will still be narrating but you can instead follow the film, listen to the soundscapes and music, and observe what she does. You could also remove or skip through the provocation, as suits. Ideally you would follow up this session with a second run-through with subs ON, pausing to read the subtitles which will help learners answer and questions they had from the first viewing. Like ALL Lyfta storyworlds, these characters are unique.
