**Please note, this lesson uses the 4th film about Kristos. Your students would ideally need to have watched the first 3 films 'Kristos', 'The Family' and 'The Teacher' unless you are exploring the theme of transition, which can use that as a focus.** You can use this with Year 6 students transferring to secondary/high school; OR as a way to ask older students to reflect on their own transitions, advising younger students about successful transition. Students will then go on to complete their writing, self-assessing against a checklist of criteria which are aligned against the GCSE writing assessment objectives (below) or an amended activity for Year 6 learners. **Lyfta core themes:** Culture and identity, Learning and growth. **Lyfta core skills and values:** Coping methods, Courage & self-confidence, Empathy & understanding others, Lifelong learning. **SDGs:** 4 **KS3+ KS4 English skills** - Planning - Organising information and ideas - Writing non-fiction - Audience, purpose and form - Using language effectively - Vocabulary. **KS2 English:** Writing composition: - Identify the audience and purpose of the writing, selecting the appropriate form - Noting and developing initial ideas - Selecting appropriate grammar and vocabulary - Use devices to build cohesion within and across paragraphs - Evaluate and edit work by assessing the effectiveness of their own writing - Proofread for spelling and punctuation errors.
