In this lesson we meet Mono, working in his studio and on the streets of Santiago, Chile. Each scene takes your students on a journey from the small-scale to huge artworks, in design and completion stages. It’s an opportunity to explore the work of an internationally renowned artist working today and in recent modern history. Learners will explore colours and create their own colour wheel using paints. **You will need to organise relevant materials eg large sheets of paper, primary paint colours and brushes.** **National Curriculum objectives:** KS1 Art - to use drawing and painting to develop and share their ideas, experiences and imagination - to develop a wide range of art and design techniques in using colour, pattern, texture, line, shape, form and space - about the work of a range of artists, craft makers and designers. KS2 Art - to improve mastery of art and design techniques with a range of materials, including drawing and painting, with a range of materials [for example, pencil, paint) - to learn about great artists, architects and designers in history.
