In this opening session of the Courage & Resilience unit, pupils explore the idea that strength can be quiet and steady. Through the life and spaces of Chen Fung Yin, pupils reflect on identity, culture, and what it means to keep going in the face of prejudice or loss. This is the start of a new unit - so the session also introduces the core values of courage and resilience. **Storyworld summary** In My Name Is…, we meet Chen Fung Yin, a 90-year-old woman in Indonesia who was forced to give up her Chinese name many years ago due to unfair laws. After decades of using an Indonesian name, she recently reclaimed her true name, and with it, part of her identity. Her story, told through beautiful scenes and quiet moments, helps us think about what it means to keep going, and to honour where we come from. Suggested introduction for each session in Year of Values: Each week, we explore a powerful human story from a different part of the world, using real-life voices and experiences to help us better understand the values that shape our lives. **Lesson objectives:** Students will: Explore meanings of courage and resilience through everyday life. Understand that names and identity can carry deep personal and cultural meaning.
