In this second session of the Courage & Resilience unit, pupils reflect on the true story of Chen Fung Yu, whose quiet strength helped her face change, find her voice, and support others. Through watching the short documentary 'I Am a Bird', students deepen their understanding of what courage looks like beyond loud or bold moments - recognising it in migration, identity, kindness, and belonging. Discussions centre on emotional resilience, culture, and identity, helping children appreciate how quiet courage and steady resilience shape who we are. Suggested introduction for each session in Year of Values: Each week, we explore a real human story from a different part of the world, helping us connect more deeply with the values that guide how we live and relate to others. **Storyworld summary** In My Name Is…, we meet Chen Fung Yin, a 90-year-old woman in Indonesia who was forced to give up her Chinese name many years ago due to unfair laws. After decades of using an Indonesian name, she recently reclaimed her true name and with it, part of her identity.
