Pri values - Courage & Resilience 6: Lukas (2/2)

Lukas’ story reminds us that courage is doing your best, even when you're scared - and that true strength comes from belief, support and perseverance.

Teacher notes

**Teach Part 1 of this lesson (lesson 5 of this unit) first.** In this final session of the Courage & Resilience unit, pupils continue to explore what it means to live with a long-term health challenge, and how courage can come from unexpected places. **Learning objectives**: Understand that courage can involve vulnerability and trust. Recognise how family, faith and friendship help us grow resilience. Reflect on how hopes and fears are part of setting meaningful goals. **National Curriculum Links** **PSHE / RSHE** H25: Recognise their increasing independence and how to show resilience. H27: Recognise their own personal strengths and achievements. H28: Identify how to set goals and work towards them. H30: Understand how to manage setbacks and learn from mistakes. R6: Understand the importance of being kind and recognising the feelings of others. R12: Listen and respond respectfully to a wide range of people. **Citizenship (KS1/KS2)** Recognise the impact of choices and actions on others. Reflect on what makes a good citizen and how we support one another. Understand that people have different values, beliefs, and strengths. **PE** Develop competence and confidence to excel in physical activities. Understand the importance of effort, persistence and trying your best. **RE** As per your locally agreed SACRE AT1: learning about religion.
