Pri values - Perseverance & Growth 2: Anna (2/2)

Revisit Anna in Norway as she trains for the world’s biggest youth football tournament. Discover what perseverance and growth mean in practice.

Teacher notes

Teach Part 1 of this lesson first. In this lesson, students watch Anna’s story unfold in the film Eyes on the Ball. They witness her journey as team captain through triumph and disappointment - and discover how courage, reflection, and perseverance help her grow stronger. Students reflect on their own experiences of setbacks and how to move forward positively. **Learning objectives**: To understand what perseverance and growth mean and why they matter. To explore how people show perseverance in everyday life and sport. To connect perseverance with emotional growth, resilience, and teamwork. **Suggested introduction for each session in Year of Values**: **National Curriculum Links** **PSHE / RSHE** H16 – About strategies and behaviours that support mental health, including perseverance and resilience. H24 – The importance of recognising and celebrating personal strengths and achievements. R14 – That healthy friendships and teamwork include kindness and support. **PE** Learn about fair play and cooperation through games and competition. **Citizenship** To recognise their worth as individuals by identifying positive things about themselves and their achievements. To develop empathy by reflecting on the experiences and challenges of others.
