This lesson is suitable for KS1 and accessible for older learners with additional needs. Please note: the selection of human-made and natural ocean sounds in this storyworld are powered by Hydrotwin, Portugal (specialists in marine acoustics). **National Curriculum objectives:** KS1 Geography Use basic geographical vocabulary e.g. beach, coast, forest, hill, mountain, sea, ocean, river, soil, weather; key human features, including: village, house, office, port, harbour, cafe, shop and transport, like boats. KS1 Science: Pupils should be taught to: - identify and name a variety of common animals including fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals; - identify that most living things live in habitats to which they are suited and describe how different habitats provide for the basic needs of different kinds of animals and plants, and how they depend on each other; - identify and name a variety of plants and animals in their habitats, including micro-habitats. **Note** Equipment is needed in the final activity (see teacher notes).
