**Note: There is a short section in the film (05.44 - 06.33) where the teen girls have an adult-led activity discussing periods and menstrual products.** This lesson introduces 15-year-old Megen who is part of a girls' surf group in Nicaragua, where surfing has been traditionally a male pursuit. **National Curriculum objectives:** KS3 PSHE R11. to evaluate expectations about gender roles and behaviour L10. to recognise and challenge stereotypes and family or cultural expectations that may limit aspirations H14. the benefits of physical activity and exercise for physical and mental health and wellbeing H16. to recognise and manage what influences their choices about physical activity.
