This lessons includes a maths and literacy activity for KS1/ lower KS2 that would make a perfect way to explore Sylvain's storyworld over the course of one or more sessions. You will need some maths counting equipment for the final activity. **Lyfta Core themes:** Professions and Entrepreneurship. **Lyfta Core Skills and Values** Collaboration & Teamwork, Information Retrieval, Research, Understanding Data. **SDGs:**11. **National Curriculum Objectives:** KS1/2 English - use relevant strategies to build vocabulary - write sentences by saying out loud what they are going to write/ composing a sentence orally before writing it - re-reading what they have written to check that it makes sense. KS1 Maths - interpret and construct simple pictograms, tally charts, block diagrams and simple tables - ask and answer simple questions by counting the number of objects in each category - ask and answer questions about totalling and comparing categorical data. Maths KS2 - interpret and present discrete data using appropriate graphical methods, including bar charts, pictograms and tables.
