This lesson is an ideal follow up to the first lesson from Emmaculate's storyworld entitled 'Emmaculate the photographer', or can be taught as a stand alone lesson, too. It is most suitable for KS3 Geography but also useful for KS2 as a way to explore cities and places, in particular dispelling stereotypes of people and places. **Lyfta core themes:** Community and Citizenship, Culture and Identity, Equality and Human Rights, Health and Wellbeing, Learning and Growth, Professions and Entrepreneurship. **Lyfta core skills and values:** Active Citizenship & Political Awareness, Critical Thinking, Design Thinking, Environment & Sustainability, Information Retrieval, Intercultural Competence, Perspective-Taking, Research, Understanding Data. **SDGs:**1, 3, 5, 8, 11. **National Curriculum objectives:** KS3 Geography - extend locational knowledge and deepen awareness of the world’s countries, focusing on environmental regions, including key physical and human characteristics of major cities - understand geographical similarities, differences and links between places through the study of human and physical geography of a region within Africa - human geography relating to: population and urbanisation; international development; economic activity and use of natural resources - understand how human and physical processes interact to influence, and change landscapes, environments and the climate. KS2 Geography - understand geographical similarities and differences through the study of human and physical geography of a city (Nairobi) - understand human geography, including: types of settlement and land use, economic activity including trade links, and the distribution of natural resources including energy, food, minerals and water.
