Writing to advise: Part two
Last lesson, you explored Anni and Michal's hobbies and activities. You also planned some ideas for a speech to advise students to try new activities. In this lesson, you will understand the expectations of writing an answer of this kind and produce your speech.

This is the second of two lessons on writing to advise. If you haven't already done so, you may want to start with the lesson titled 'Writing to advise: Part one'. In this second of two lessons on writing to advise, students will explore a model answer which incorporates the required features of a school assembly speech, advising young people to participate in a wider range of new hobbies. Students will then go on to writing their speeches, self-assessing against a checklist of criteria which are aligned against the GCSE writing assessment objectives. **Lyfta core themes:** Health and Wellbeing, Learning and Growth. **Lyfta core skills and values:** Communication, Courage and Self-Confidence, Healthy Living. **SDGs:** 3, 5. **KS3+ KS4 English skills** - Planning - Organising information and ideas - Writing non-fiction - Audience, purpose and form - Using language effectively - Vocabulary.
