Lesson plans for primary and secondary students look at the devastating effects of hurricanes and explore how communities can prepare for these natural disasters. There are also rich learning resources that support geography and science learning, covering topics including map-reading, time zones, and the seasons.
Students can also learn about the Maya people past and present, including the Maya Q'eqchi community in Guatemala, and how modern day Maya culture continues to survive and thrive.

"The water continues to rise, about 400 families have already been evacuated and are sheltered in different places."
