Compassion and Empathy is the second module in Lyfta’s Year of Values course for primary schools. Across six lessons, children meet real people from different parts of the world and learn how they show kindness, care, and understanding in their communities. Through immersive films and storyworlds, pupils explore how small actions - like helping a neighbour, caring for animals, or listening to someone’s story - can make a big difference. Each session builds opportunities to reflect on how compassion and empathy look in everyday life and how they can practise these values at school, at home, and beyond. The module is designed to encourage thoughtful discussion, develop emotional literacy, and support pupils in recognising that everyone can make a positive impact through kindness and care.

Through six lessons, learners encounter authentic global stories - from a violin-playing girl visiting a care home, to an activist supporting street animals, to families celebrating cultural traditions. These stories prompt students to think critically about how compassion and empathy operate at both personal and societal levels. The module explores how caring actions influence relationships, communities, and wider society, while also questioning the challenges of living compassionately in a complex world. Students are invited to reflect on their own responses, consider multiple perspectives, and practise empathy through dialogue and relational thinking. This module supports PSHE and Citizenship priorities, while encouraging students to connect values to lived realities and to their own capacity for action.

Respect and Inclusion is the first unit in Lyfta's Year of Values course, a year-long values education programme. Through immersive films and guided discussions, pupils explore what it means to treat others with dignity, to value difference, and to stand up for those who are excluded. Designed for whole-class sessions or assemblies, each lesson blends story, reflection, and dialogue to build empathy, self-awareness, and relational skills. As part of the wider Year of Values course, this module lays the foundation for future explorations of compassion, resilience, responsibility, and more - helping schools nurture confident, connected, and caring young people.

This course introduces KS2 students to the digital and media worlds they’re already part of, helping them explore how stories, images, and online spaces shape how we see ourselves and others. Through immersive Lyfta storyworlds, short films, and thoughtful discussion, pupils will build their capacity to pause, reflect, and question what they see online. Themes include representation, truth, stereotypes, wellbeing, responsibility, and digital kindness. Learners will also be encouraged to develop their own ideas and reflections through regular journaling and class conversations. This collection contains 12 carefully scaffolded lessons, mapped to PSHE, Computing and RSHE.

This course supports secondary students to critically explore the media and digital world they’re immersed in. Through powerful human stories, immersive environments, articles, and reflective discussion, students are invited to question how algorithms, platforms, and media representations shape what we see, and what we miss. Through over 12 sequenced lessons, learners engage with topics including misinformation, deepfakes, stereotypes, AI, digital responsibility, and the power of storytelling. Regular journaling prompts help deepen self-reflection, and survey tools measure shifts in attitudes and understanding. The course is mapped to PSHE, Citizenship and Computing, and supports personal development through empathy, media awareness, and ethical digital engagement.
